The brief

To create online and in-gallery applications to display entries to a photography competition accompanying the Street & Studio exhibition at Tate Modern, held in conjunction with Flickr.

With numerous competing requirements to resolve from internal stakeholders and project partners Flickr and Blurb, there were challenges around the crediting of entries, linking to entries on a 3rd parties and the experience within the gallery space.

My role

  • Design of rotating image grid to display the competition entries on the exhibition website and in the gallery
  • Design of slideshow application to show competition winners on a large screen inside the gallery space
  • AJAX development of both applications using the Flickr API
  • Moderation of entries and management of the Flickr competition group

I created an AJAX application to display competition entries as a randomly rotating grid within the exhibition space. Image credit Tony Hall
